Coors Light held a party for the staff of the various bars around the country that sold its beer, and it was a night that will not be forgotten for a long time.

As well as inflatable sumo wrestling, gladiator jousting and a bucking bronco the main act was ‘Rockaoke’ a band that play the backing music to a song of your choosing as for one night only you are the lead singer.

Corporate AV Hire supplied ‘Rockaoke’ with full front of house PA as well as on stage monitors and drum kit. We provided 5x4m of staging which elevated the band so the whole of the crowd could see them. So the singer (and audience) could see the words;we put in a 42” monitor and an 8x6ft rear projection screen with short throw projector.

Lighting wise we used moving heads at the front of the room to wash both the ceiling and the crowd and washed the band/stage with gelled Fresnels to give different effects depending or the song being sung.

Elsewhere we provided profile spots with ‘Coors light’ gobos in them to light up the walls of the bar area, and gelled floor-cans to provide mood lighting in the competition room. Outdoors we used eight IP65 rated waterproof wash lights powered by a generator to light massive banners which lined the entrance to the venue.

We setup the day before the event so the next day all we had to do was a sound check with ‘Rockaoke’ and programme the lighting before the party kicked off.
