Day 6 - 02/07/20 - No Maud's today!

After a blustery and rainy night the weather started to clear as I packed my things for another day. Although the tent was still wet when it went away!!

I continued on the coastal path up towards portstewart passing plenty of golfers and dog walkers on the way.
Walking along the promenade I witnessed a lot of the shops and restaurants getting ready to open again this weekend and thought I'd grab a wee Maud's for breakfast on the way through, but alass it was not to be so I just got a sausage sandwich and a packet of jelly babies from the local spar, before finding a quiet place out of the wind to sit for a while.

So my destination today was castlerock and as the crow fly's it's literally not that far from portstewart. But since the river Bann is in the way and I am severally lacking any sort of wings I had to make the trip via Coleraine.
This took me the best part of the day and was pretty uneventful bar some tooting and waving from passing cars as they seen my flag flying high.

Leaving Coleraine I took a B road to Castlerock and met a lovely lady called Rosemary who is a Nun at the local Loreto convent. She was also out for a walk as by this stage the weather was really nice being overcast and warm.

Bypassing Castlerock I took a trek though Downhill forest before ending up at Downhill beach where I got a cup of tea and that finished me for the day.

Stats for today are:

Kilometers walked - 28km

Elevation gained - 460m
